David Collins is one of our home-town reporters. He has lived most of his life in the Baltimore-Washington area.

He graduated from Towson State with a Political Science degree and then worked as a radio anchor, reporter and assistant news director in smaller markets. He freelances for NBC News in Washington and was the Washington Bureau Reporter for King Broadcasting before coming to WBAL-TV.

David has won many journalism awards. They include a Gavel Award from the Maryland Bar Association for exposing corruption in the Court system with regards to expert witness testimony. The Society of Professional Journalists has recognized him for excellence in general reporting on a variety of topics.

He has also won numerous awards from the Associated Press for Outstanding Enterprise Reporting. He also has several Emmy nominations for investigative reporting.

David enjoys spending time with his wife Trish and their sons Daniel and Andrew. He is an Orioles and Ravens fan.

He says his favorite hobby is digging up stories and exposing corruption.
