Explosion Sinks Boat In Anne Arundel County

EDGEWATER -- A 35-foot boat exploded outside the Selby Bay Yacht Club in Edgewater.A fire spokesperson said the boat was having mechanical problems and when the boat was put in neutral, it exploded.Elizabeth Spencer of Alexander, Va., was thrown into the water after the explosion and was taken to a nearby hospital. The spokesperson said that her injuries are minor.
The boat burned and eventually sunk in 17 feet of water.
